The hamlet of Xiro Horio is just a short walk away from the development. Xiro Horio is situated a few kilometres out of the city of Rethymno between two large creeks Mili and Agia Irini.
Despite its proximity to the sea and mountains, the climate of the village is sweet and not at all humid. The name Xiro Horio itself means village with a dry, mild climate. The village is built on a hillside facing the sea and the surrounding meadows. The tranquility and ideal location of the village was the reason that, in the old days doctors recommended it as an ideal place for recovery.
The charming town of Rethymno, with its good infrastructure, is just 4 km away. The spectacular 13 km long beach is even closer. Numerous shops, taverns and a variety of facilities are just a few minutes drive away.
MYLOI GORGE
Myloi (the name means Mills) is an old village that today is uninhabited. It is situated in a narrow green gorge which is crossed by a river and took its name from the watermills of the region. Today you can still see the ruins of this traditional village and examine the architecture of its abandoned houses, the caves and the churches.
